Art is the only way to run away without leaving home ~ Twyla Tharp
I have been crafting and designing for years on a hobbyist level. I have a degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, and will be receiving my degree in Educational Studies in February 2014. I took art and theater classes in college, focusing on costume and set design. My husband is an officer in the U.S. Army. As a military spouse we move around a lot. In 2010 my husband went to Iraq. This caused a lot of worry and I found relief by setting up a craft room that allowed me to escape into the world of my imagination. Card making became my passion.
I am primarily a card maker, although I dabble in mixed media. I also make journals, scrapbooks, boxes and bags that I give as gifts. I enjoy coloring with Spectrum Noir, and doing iris folding. My preferred card is a square fold, but I love to experiment. I have started doing more 3-D and pop-up cards.
My husband surprised me with some stamps that he bought used while stationed in Korea. I didn’t recognize the brand but I was so impressed that I did an online search and was introduced to Close To My Heart. I love the company and the products so much I decided to become a consultant. I know you will be impressed as well. You can go directly to my company page by clicking on the Shop Now badge located in the footer.
